Hermann, Mo is rich in History and stories from long ago.  Go back in time as you enjoy the haunting history of our great city on the Cemetery Walk Tour and the Ghost Tours.

The Sixth Annual Cemetery Walk in Hermann, hosted by The Brush & Palette Club, is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. at the City Cemetery, located between East 9th and 10th streets in one of the oldest sections of the Hermann City Cemetery.  As you take the tour you will meet costumed impersonators of the former residents of Hermann and hear their stories of their lives and some their untimely deaths. The tour costs $10 and helps raise money for the restoration of the cemetery.  Historic grave sites, such as those of sisters Anna and Theresia Straub, three and five, and their grandmother Maria Becht,. The young girls and their grandmother were victims within days of each other during the cholera epidemic in Hermann in 1849.  Jacob Eisenhut’s gravestone was in pieces buried in the dirt on the cemetery hillside. His marker has been pieced back together and erected on a new base. Eisenhut died in 1881 after being in Hermann only a short time, having come from Illinois.

The Ghost Tour of Hermann will be held October 25th, 2-4pm and October 28 at 6pm with paranormal Author and Ghost Hunter Dan Terry to benefit the Animal Rescue Ferals in Peril.  Dan has written several books and has held several Ghost Hunts in the Gasconade County and surrounding areas.  Travel with him by Trolley and by foot as he retells the many encounters he has documented around the Hermann area, including the Gasconade County Courthouse and the Wine Valley Inn which recently was written about in the Ten Most Haunted Hotels in Mo. The tour will finish up with the actual viewing of the recorded documentation of his past findings!  Don't forget to bring your camera to catch your own ghosts.  Tickets are $20 and may be reserved by calling Nancy at 573-486-5317
